I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again…Halo 3 is on it’s way to complete and total world domination.
Now add some Vodka to that Mountain Dew as well as some controller breaking and you’ve got me.
For those of you brave enough to get the Legendary Edition, look closely at 00:13.
“What kind of world is this where they advertise things not everybody can afford?” -Phillip J. Fry
Update: Justin here hijacking the post. I wanted to add this Halo 3 commercial, but didn’t want to flood the site with halo 3 ad posts I saw this ad on tv tonight. I love it!
The internet exploded yesterday with videos of the Halo 3 Guardian map from the PAX Omegathon. Here is the second and final map shown, Narrows. Now excuse my newbishness for a second, but what was the green blob shooting gun?! I checked the Halo 3 wikipedia entry, but there is no mention of it in the weapons category. Whatever it is, it looks like it can do some massive damage. Even in the hands of that rather bad player, it got some quick kills. So did the fire bomb.
Here’s some pretty decent shaky cam footage from GC 07. First up is a short clip from the campaign level Tsavo Highway (Click video to play). I’ve got to say the environment looks pretty gorgeous. That transport hog should also be good from getting you and your 3 buddies around.
Next is some footage from the map “Sandtrap.” When you’re done playing coop, this is what it will look like owning said buddies in mutiplayer:
To promote Halo 3, Red vs Blue is back in a 5 part mini-series. Really, they are just a big commercial for the game. It’s such a corporate sellout move, you can online watch them on big game retailers sites like Gamestop, Bestbuy, and Amazon. You know, so you’re tempted to pre-order the game while you are there. I’m sure fans of the series are glad, and I guess there are a few “ha” lines in this first episode. I’ve ripped and youtubified the first episode and embedded it below for your enjoyment.
Be prepared, because this is only the beginning of the onslaught of Halo 3 promotions coming at your face. I recommend you run and hide now.
I’m sure you are as overwhelmed as me with all the news, coverage, trailers, etc coming out of this years E3. It’s a lot to wrap your mind around, and there is a lot of crap to wade through. In all honesty though, I’m pretty overwhelmed with the quantity of quality games being shown. Here is what I deem worth checking out:
Mass Effect – Xbox 360 (November 07)
The graphics and scope alone are jaw dropping, but it’s the team on board that gives this game promise. We know they can craft a story, and Mass Effect looks like no exception.
It’s already up for download at Bungie and HBO. Bungie has it in all the WMV flavors (including HD), while HBO has it QT format… for those of you that enjoy Quicktime (also available in 720p).
If you missed the Press Briefing, you didn’t miss much. Except this trailer. So download it. Now.
August 14, 2007, keep your eye out for the above final box art on store shelves. Fresh off the press FTP, here are some new screens. The graphics might not be anything to write home about, but it looks like a much more precise sim than we are use to with Wii Sports. Bowling with the Wii-mote just feels so right. Now you will get more realistic physics and a career mode to work your way through.
It always amazes me how well composed these CEO types are, even when getting grilled on television (and now the internet). He’s called out on spinning all the BS coming out of his mouth, but I still need to give Mr Tretton some props on not losing face. Just keep telling yourself that about your little 10 year plan.
I seem to remember Sony bashing Xbox 360 during its first year because PS2 was outselling it in some markets. PS2 vs PS3 anyone?
This video, titled “Gears of War PC ‘E3 Action’ montage”, got the old post and pull treatment at GameVideos.com. Does this confirm Gears is PC bound? Or maybe the title was in error. After all, I didn’t notice any similar content to the Gears we currently know and love. Future DLC, or a peak at the sequel? Time will tell.
