Guitar God Tom Morello boss in GHIII

Posted: September 11th, 2007 | Author: Tarun Kunwar | Filed under: News, PS3, Xbox 360 | 15 Comments »

Ok, so for the most part, I hate this game. If you’re going to become a Guitar Hero freak and spend countless hours learning how to pretend play a plastic toy, LEARN THE FRIGGIN INSTRUMENT. It’s not that hard. When I think about the level of ease on all the songs in this game, it would seriously take a n3wb guitarist the same amount of time to learn the tabs as it does getting a 100 note streak.

It looks like they’ve added some very influential guitarists to the GHIII lineup (mainly Slash from Guns N’ Roses and now Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave) RIP.

The Rage song on the game………….BULLS ON PARADE!!! Activision has stated that players will need to “emulate some of Morello’s extremely innovative guitar-playing antics.” How he makes those freakishly amazing sounds with his geetar you axe?

I’ve met Tom once; he’s an ass. Nevertheless, this is innovation at its finest.

Who knows J-Town, maybe a Bright Eyes song for GHIV? BOOMERANG BURN!

Microsoft and Sony skipping E for All Expo

Posted: August 25th, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: News | 1 Comment »

What is going to fill that gigantic LA Convention Center without huge Microsoft and Sony booths? Well, Nintendo will be there. So much for replacing good old E3. I can’t blame you for trying.

I guess it was never trying to “replace” E3 anyway, since E for All is a consumer show. But come on, it’s in the LACC! And it’s one E away from E3. I guess that makes it E2. You will still be able to get your hands on some new 360 and Sony games, though. Just not first party stuff. The likes of EA, THQ, Konami, and Bandai Namco will be showing off their goods.

What do you think of the new logo?

Posted: August 23rd, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: News, Rants | 7 Comments »

I had some free time today, so after getting the damn Historian achievement in BioShock, I decided to play around in Photoshop. What do you think? When I get around to it, I will redesign the rest of the site to more or less match, and just look cleaner. Sorry, but I had to add some ad banners. I’m still paying every month out of my pocket to host the site. I’m just crossing my fingers I can at least break even. The hole in my pocket is getting ever bigger, and my wanted list is growing longer (games and the like).

Please drop some feedback on what you want to see more or less of. I’m sure you are going to say “more posts!” I would love that too. I’m open to new writers, so if you are passionate about games and can string a sentence together in proper english, let me know. Hope you are all enjoying BioShock (except Tarun–I hope you are enjoying Totem Ball). Burn!

360′(s) to Support HDMI

Posted: August 8th, 2007 | Author: Tarun Kunwar | Filed under: News, Xbox 360 | 6 Comments »

360 HDMI

This one was kind of a shocker, (especially amidst all of the price drop buzz). I remember conversing with “the man” and his frustration over the Elite’s HDMI capabilities. His main quarrel with the new SKU was something along the lines of: (They’re forcing you to buy the Elite if you want HDMI).

According to Joystiq, Microsoft never claimed for the Elite to be the only model with HDMI support.

The revamped consoles are expected to hit markets in late August/ early September.

This has been a very downhill battle for MS.

Halo 3 four player online co-op confirmed!

Posted: July 31st, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: Halo 3, News, Xbox 360, Xbox Live | 8 Comments »

Despite the great scare earlier this month, Bungie has confirmed that not only will Halo 3 have 2 player co-op over Xbox Live, they will do you two better and make that four player! The long standing rumor is finally confirmed, and we can all rejoice.

Halo 3 4 player co-opYou will only be able to do 2 players on the same console, be it offline, online, or system link. You can still jump in with up to two other players via Xbox Live, or LAN.

To prevent confusion, and the fabric of reality from tearing, not everyone will play as Master Chief. You’ve got MC, the Arbiter, and two new Elites. Full details are over at Bungie.

Peter Moore leaves MS to head… EA Sports!

Oh the irony. I feel like two teams just traded players. See, video game execs are superstars! I hope Moore can breath some fresh life into EA. Full press release from EA after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

E3 07: Games to keep your eye on

Posted: July 12th, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: E3 2007, Homebrew, News, PC, PS3, Video, Xbox 360 | 2 Comments »

I’m sure you are as overwhelmed as me with all the news, coverage, trailers, etc coming out of this years E3. It’s a lot to wrap your mind around, and there is a lot of crap to wade through. In all honesty though, I’m pretty overwhelmed with the quantity of quality games being shown. Here is what I deem worth checking out:

Mass Effect – Xbox 360 (November 07)

The graphics and scope alone are jaw dropping, but it’s the team on board that gives this game promise. We know they can craft a story, and Mass Effect looks like no exception.

Ubisoft Remains Hush Hush over Assassin’s Creed

Posted: July 11th, 2007 | Author: Tarun Kunwar | Filed under: E3 2007, News, Rants | 3 Comments »

What the hell was that?

If you didn’t happen to catch the craptacular footage from the Microsoft conference tonight, Ubisoft is still keeping their baby under wraps.

What the dilly-yo? The footage we received tonight was almost identical to last years E3…The protagonist Altair was shown jumping from wooden planks (not unlike Prince of Persia). And the fighting system…still looks weak.

Producer Jade Raymond has promised over 800 moves for Altair, yet maybe only two were showcased during the battle sequence.

Now if Ubisoft doesn’t deliver some sort of “next gen” gameplay by November like they’ve promised, I say bah to this game.

Quit wasting our time with your meaningless hijinks. There are plenty of other fish in the sea. (ehhmm…Resident Evil 5).

Assassin’s Creed

Oh, and where’s the MGS4 tattoo?
