Gamersyde has got the goods. Check out all four parts below, or download them each in 1280×720p glory. These videos show more of Tsavo Highway, and the replay value in the single player campaign.
Here’s some pretty decent shaky cam footage from GC 07. First up is a short clip from the campaign level Tsavo Highway (Click video to play). I’ve got to say the environment looks pretty gorgeous. That transport hog should also be good from getting you and your 3 buddies around.
Next is some footage from the map “Sandtrap.” When you’re done playing coop, this is what it will look like owning said buddies in mutiplayer:
We are in a drought. Every game under the sun right now either sucks, or has been grossly played out. I had this dream the other night that UPS delivered me the Halo 3 Legendary Edition…and Alyssa Milano was the UPS lady. =) (The video is from Microsoft’s Conference which was held in my favorite city).
For $130, they should throw in a Zune with that helmet.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to build a time machine.
Despite the great scare earlier this month, Bungie has confirmed that not only will Halo 3 have 2 player co-op over Xbox Live, they will do you two better and make that four player! The long standing rumor is finally confirmed, and we can all rejoice.
You will only be able to do 2 players on the same console, be it offline, online, or system link. You can still jump in with up to two other players via Xbox Live, or LAN.
To prevent confusion, and the fabric of reality from tearing, not everyone will play as Master Chief. You’ve got MC, the Arbiter, and two new Elites. Full details are over at Bungie.
To promote Halo 3, Red vs Blue is back in a 5 part mini-series. Really, they are just a big commercial for the game. It’s such a corporate sellout move, you can online watch them on big game retailers sites like Gamestop, Bestbuy, and Amazon. You know, so you’re tempted to pre-order the game while you are there. I’m sure fans of the series are glad, and I guess there are a few “ha” lines in this first episode. I’ve ripped and youtubified the first episode and embedded it below for your enjoyment.
Be prepared, because this is only the beginning of the onslaught of Halo 3 promotions coming at your face. I recommend you run and hide now.
Dammit. I can’t believe this is happening but as of now, there shall be no Halo 3 Co-op online. Gwaa!?! “We know that people want it and we’re trying to make it happen. I think the biggest problem for us for online co-op is that we have a situation where you can be in a Warthog with five troops, almost a mile away from the other player. That’s a significant challenge,” says Bungie’s Frank Conner.
Ok, I’ll ignore this for now and ignorantly keep my hopes up that maybe somewhere down the line there will be an update that will fix this crap. C’MON BUNGIE! “If we can make it happen in a way that works well, we will – and if it works badly, we won’t.”
Excuse me while I sob.
If you missed the live action short during last nights MS Media Briefing, here it is. This video was a collaboration between Bungie Studios, director Neill Blomkamp, WETA Workshop and Origami Digital LLC. It is described as “the first digital short depicting humanity’s struggle to save Earth.” You can download it from Bungie, or watch below. Enjoy.
It’s already up for download at Bungie and HBO. Bungie has it in all the WMV flavors (including HD), while HBO has it QT format… for those of you that enjoy Quicktime (also available in 720p).
If you missed the Press Briefing, you didn’t miss much. Except this trailer. So download it. Now.
The “gray” 360 everyone has been speculating about ended up being a Limited Edition Halo 3 themed console, to be launched alongside Halo 3. No details on specs yet. My guess is that it will have the same features and price as the Premium SKU, plus the (ugly) green and gold color scheme.
UPDATE: Bungie reveals that it is HDMI equiped, so there blows my theory. No details on HDD size, or anything else. All that info should be revealed tomorrow.
Two Limited Edition 360 Wireless controllers are being released on September 18th, designed by the legendary Todd McFarlane. One features artwork of a Covenant Brute, and the other of Master Chief (but of course). They will retail for $59.99 and can be preordered NOW. To make the price seem fair, you also get a limited edition Master Chief figurine from McFarlane Toys.
Also coming out in September is a Limited Edition Halo 3 wireless headset. Let me warn you, it’s ugly.
If that’s not enough for you, there is also another novel coming soon, a Marvel comic Halo miniseries, and the Halo 3 branded Zune. Are you feeling synergized yet?
