Gears 2 Multiplayer Action
June 29th, 2008 | by Tarun Kunwar |The way I see the FPS market is that there are only three franchises worth that $60 kick in the nuts: Halo, COD and Gears. What sets these titles apart from the rest (ehmmm R6V), is that the controls are totally crisp. If you don’t have this, your game is bound to suck regardless of its genre (i.e. every Marvel and Disney title ever produced). I am however glad to see that Epic is adding a variety of new features that will keep Gears fans rocking this game all throughout the holidays. Although I’m still a tad bit skeptic about the chainsaw battles, the proximity mine-esque grenades, body coverage and wide assortment of new weapons are surely to make Gears 2 a keeper.
Wait, was that a deployable shield I saw?
Good artists copy. Great artists steal.

The first thing I thought of when they showed sticking a grenades to the environment was N64 Goldeneye Proximity Mines.
The new finishing moves look pretty cool too. I just really they don’t add another “Seriously …” achievement. I could see that belonging in Halo, but no, Bungie was smart/nice.

I agree.
Getting kills on multiplayer is not easy for me. (Average like 8 kills per game).
Even if you wanted to join up with skilled friends, there’s no party system for ranked matches!
The action moves to slow to have an achievement like that.
In Halo you can get a “seriously” achievement within a night of gaming I bet.
