UBISOFT ANNOUNCES ASSASSIN’S CREED(TM) VIDEO GAME HAS GONE GOLD -
LAUNCHING NOVEMBER 13
SAN FRANCISCO – October 25, 2007 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced its highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed(TM) video game has gone “gold” and is set to launch in North America on November 13, 2007. The title is one of the most anticipated games for the holiday season, arriving on the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft at the MSRP of $59.99 with the Limited Edition priced at $69.99 – rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB. In addition, those who pre-order Assassin’s Creed at GameStop will receive an exclusive Assassin’s Creed art book bonus when they pick up their game.“We’ve been working very hard for nearly four years to make Assassin’s Creed a reality and now there is a confirmed date when players will get to experience the results of our efforts,” shared Jade Raymond, producer of Assassin’s Creed. “This is a huge event for the team. Our biggest reward will be everyone having a lot of good solid fun.”
Omgz, an extra ten bucks for an art book on Altair? Unless your game is called Halo, NOT INTERESTED. This fad needs to stop. Wait until your titles have gained some credibility/sold some games before you add an additional sku dammit.
And I swear to god that at least thirty percent of the sales on this game are going to come from the pockets of Jade Raymond fanboys.
Game looks gorgeous, the AI looks retarded…but I’m sick of the the wait! I’ll believe it when I see it.
p.s. Possible Tomb Raider syndrome anyone?
I’d ditch Halo 3 in a hot second. Well, that’s going to happen on the fifth of November anyways.
The hegemonic “Over-saturated” FPS market breeds ingenuity the likes of Rock Band and other novelty Wii games.
I say bring back the old school cause it’s still kickin’. (no pun intended).
Am I the only one who was led to believe the Legendary Edition would be hard to get, and likely be sold out even before launch? Turns out, it was just a push to get more preorders. Who would have thought. Regardless, if you are looking back and wishing you got a shiny Master Chief helmet to call your own, Halo 3 Legendary Edition is Amazon’s Deal of the Day. It can be yours for $109.99 with free shipping. Get it here.
Update: Looks like Amazon isn’t the only one with this in the clearance bin. DeepDiscount.com has the Legendary Edition for $101, also with free shipping! DeepDiscount has a good track record according to BizRate.
This is probably my favorite stick since it seems to be feasible, (not 99.9% luck).
If you guys have done something sweeter, share!
In the impossible event that Bungie and Microsoft were to part ways, (impossible need I remind you), who would take over the Halo universe?
I don’t know when the hell they got involved in the gaming industry, but some guy from MTV has made list of eleven possible candidates.
Now, I deeply question the gamer credibility of anyone affiliated with MTV, but this guy brings up some good points.
Lets see, a game that rakes in 300 million in the first week and good ol’ Billy is going to let them go? Yeahhh…
As for Epic making the next Halo…that’s just about as sacrilegious as anything gets.
[UPDATE]
THIS JUST IN…PIGS CAN FLY! The week long rumors have been confirmed. Here’s what Bungie had to say.
KIRKLAND, Wash. — Oct. 5, 2007 — Bungie and Microsoft Corp. today announced a plan for Bungie Studios, the developers of Microsoft’s “Halo†franchise, to become a privately held independent company, Bungie, LLC, in which Microsoft will hold a minority equity interest. As part of this transaction, Bungie and Microsoft have forged a deep and long-term development and publishing relationship focused on the continued success of the “Halo†franchise. It is also the intent of both parties to expand their partnership to include new IP created and owned by Bungie.
You can check out the rest of the press release here. I must warn you, it is quite emotional.
Minority equity interest huh? Didn’t see that coming!
