Halo 3 has officially gone gold

The wait is almost over. “Halo 3,†the final chapter in the groundbreaking “Halo†trilogy and the most anticipated game release of 2007, has been released to manufacturing.Three years in the making by renowned developer Bungie Studios, “Halo 3†is now finished and will begin its journey to store shelves around the world in less than four weeks. “Halo 3,†which has already set new records as the fastest preordered game in history, has exceeded one million presales in North America alone. The title is set to shatter day-one entertainment sales records when it is released worldwide beginning Tuesday, Sept. 25.

If it follows in Halo 2’s footsteps, this means it could hit the pirate channels any day. I can’t imagine the security they must have on it this time around, though. September 25th is officially imminent.

I can’t imagine what the lines will be like at gamestop this year.

Pre-ordering is a scam. You gave Gamestop your money months and months ago, and for what? So that they can make interest on it. If a million people put down $5 a year ago for Halo 3, that means they have already made a quarter million dollars, JUST IN INTEREST! There is no other reason they push you to buy games (except to ensure you but it at their store). Halo 3 is already in manufacturing. They can make a LOT of discs in a months time. There will be no shortage of Halo 3.

I want Halo 3 Legendary Edition.
Should I pre-order it to make sure I can get that edition, or should the stores have enough where they won’t sell out of it?

Ok, I forgot to mention “limited” editions in my rant
The only safe bet with these is to preorder. Especially if you want it launch day, and don’t want to go hunting. I don’t recall how many of the Legendary Editions they are making, so it’s hard to say how hard it will be to find.
