360′(s) to Support HDMI
Posted: August 8th, 2007 | Author: Tarun Kunwar | Filed under: News, Xbox 360 | 6 Comments »This one was kind of a shocker, (especially amidst all of the price drop buzz). I remember conversing with “the man” and his frustration over the Elite’s HDMI capabilities. His main quarrel with the new SKU was something along the lines of: (They’re forcing you to buy the Elite if you want HDMI).
According to Joystiq, Microsoft never claimed for the Elite to be the only model with HDMI support.
The revamped consoles are expected to hit markets in late August/ early September.
This has been a very downhill battle for MS.

Get with the news, T!
The new $350 20GB 360s have already been found with HDMI. I don’t see, why you call it a downhill battle (I actually don’t know what that is, haha), i think it’s a good thing. Not only is the price lower, but you are getting more for your money. Coupled with the better reliability/added heatsink and rumored 65nm chip, MS has themselves in a good position for the holidays. A LOT of people have been on the fence waiting for a price drop, better reliability, and Halo 3. It appears the planets are aligning.
Lets just not be bitter cause we’ve got the old ghetto red light disco 360s
Hasn’t you’re 360 been fine since I fixed it? I’m rather proud of myself on that (although it was a shitload of work). Peace.
I only heard that the halo versions would have hdmi.
Downhill battle in the sense of console pricing (apparently, you can get a refubished core for $180)..and used hdd’s are like 60 bucks so that’s bitchin.
The 360 has been fine, i’m just worried that it might have another heart attack if a piece of dust falls on it the wrong way.
Still can’t beat the 360 I got on ebay for $100, fixed by MS for free, and got a new power brick, cables, etc for another $40!
PS: Tarun, I need to somehow get you hooked on skate because that game looks flippin awesome. We can be online virtual skatin buddies! The demo comes out on the 15th.
Haha, do you realize how ridiculous that sounds. (it’s gonna be like home with skate boards!)
I just checked out pics on gamespot and those graphics look choppy (like assassin’s creed choppy).
I’ve never been good at Tony Hawk, but if you can play as Rob Dydrek / Big Black Boykins, count me in.
That’s right, i still watch MTV.
How will you know if it has the 65nm chips in it will there be some key number to look for on the sku? Also is it worth getting a new one I still have mine from 12/18/2005. And when do you guys think MS will unveil the new xbox they are currently working on?
What new xbox? Microsoft would probably announce when the chips are released in consoles, then just look at the production date of the console. Don’t the elites already have 65nm chips?
