Ubisoft Remains Hush Hush over Assassin’s Creed
July 11th, 2007 | by Tarun Kunwar |What the hell was that?
If you didn’t happen to catch the craptacular footage from the Microsoft conference tonight, Ubisoft is still keeping their baby under wraps.
What the dilly-yo? The footage we received tonight was almost identical to last years E3…The protagonist Altair was shown jumping from wooden planks (not unlike Prince of Persia). And the fighting system…still looks weak.
Producer Jade Raymond has promised over 800 moves for Altair, yet maybe only two were showcased during the battle sequence.
Now if Ubisoft doesn’t deliver some sort of “next gen” gameplay by November like they’ve promised, I say bah to this game.
Quit wasting our time with your meaningless hijinks. There are plenty of other fish in the sea. (ehhmm…Resident Evil 5).
Oh, and where’s the MGS4 tattoo?

Keep in mind, the missions don’t just end when you kill your target. You still need to escape to safety, away from pursuing guards. I personally think the chase scenes look like a lot of fun (especially last night, when he ran above the crowd to catch up). And depending on the AI, no two chases may be the same. That could really add to the replayability. Not only can you pursue different paths to your targets, but when you chase them, they could go different directions through the large cities. I also see how time trials on these missions could be fun, and add to the replayability. I think it’s too early to say if the fighting is good or not. I thought they showed some sick moves last night. It is yet to be determined. Don’t hate.

They mentioned time trials?
I don’t know how long these chases will last. They seemed to catch the slaver in under two minutes.
Apparently the secret of the game’s plot will be revealed within the first five minutes of gameplay. (joystiq).
I’m not trying to hate, I just want something that sways away from Prince of Persia.

No, they didn’t mention time trials. I’m just hoping they have them (like in Crackdown).
You say you just want them to sway away from PoP. At least PoP has somewhat unique gameplay (NOT run and gun, or big ass sword plus hundreds of enemies). I’m just glad it’s one less WWII shooter (although, Medal of Honor looks badass).
