360 “Messenger Kit” (chatpad) priced at 30 bones

Messenger Kit

The previously announced Messenger Kit (more affectionately referred to as the chatpad) got an Xbox.com update earlier with a posted sticker price of $29.99. It should be available September 4. Who’s gonna splurge?

Don’t forget that price includes a new headset which you don’t need because the pricks that designed this thing had a field day and thought we all wanted a new connector.

The thing is that m$ sucks at making headsets. Will never use them even again unless you bring back the orginial live heatset. Can’t wait un till I get mine though.

The original live headset was comfy and had good audio quality, but was notorious for breaking. At least once a week I would epoxy mine back together, until I eventually gave up and lived with a duct taped monstrosity. I still use my Plantronics Halo 2 headset, which is pure bliss. I put the volume control/connector thing from the crappy 360 headset and haven’t looked back. I’m pissed IF I did get the chatpad, I would need to forgo it all together, or need to use seperate headset with and without the chatpad.
