Halo 3 Beta out NOW for Crackdown users!
May 16th, 2007 | by Justin Nolan |The download is now working. HOWEVER, you need to clear your cache, which means you will lose your game updates (you will simply be prompted to re-download them next time you launch a game). Here is how to do it:
Restart your box, then do this:
Go to the dashboard.
Go to the system tab
Select memory
Highlight your hard drive
Press Y
Press X, X, LB, RB, X, X
Say yes when prompted to do maintenance on your hard drive.
Enjoy! I’m sure this will be sorted out in a bit and you wont need to clear your cache, but since I know how impatient you all are… see you soon. Start your download before the masses!

Is this because I sent you the message to do this or did you know to do this after you tried and failed to get the update. I played the beta and Halo 3 is much much better than the previous versions.

You don’t have to clear all your game updates. All I did was went into Crackdown, downloaded the update, then downloaded Halo 3 Beta. The Hard Drive maintance was just for a problem that some of the Friends and Family beta players were having.

Actually right when the update came available some people had problems. Bungie did say that it could take up to 4 hours for your Xbox to see there is an update. If you delete your cache you delete your updates and then you Xbox see that you need an update to play. Automatically your Xbox 360 get the latest one.
This was when the beta work for about the first hour. Some got through not needing to do this, some did.
