I imagine that many of your launch PS3s will have some BR related problem in the first 2 to 3 years. My 7th series PS2 has been getting slower on loading because the laser is a POS eventually I'll only be able to play the games I loaded on my HDD for that eventuality. Most everyone I know has gone through 2 PS2s because the laser stops reading discs. There could be a time bomb in any system. It seems like the 360 is a time bomb. People with launch consoles that haven't broken yet, I would expect the worse. Who knows, maybe down the road PS3s will start failing left and right. Afterall, the PS2 DVD lasers werent so great because DVD was pretty new technology. Same with Blu-ray, these are first gen, unproven technologies. Who knows how long the blu-ray laser will last. Same goes with the hd-dvd drive. Any time you try to throw in a bunch of new unproven technology, problems are prone to happen.
