Ninja Gaiden Sigma Demo up on PSN

Posted: April 26th, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: Demo, PS3 | 2 Comments »

Fire up your download queue, because Ninja Gaiden Sigma is up for download at the Playstation Store. The download weighs in at 983MB, so expect a wait.

Also available is a demo for Virtua Tennis 3, if anyone actually cares.

I just got a PS3 yesterday–good timing for me. I got a now-extinct 20GB on ebay for $400. So far I’ve had fun unlocking everything in the GT HD concept demo. My biggest complaint is how slow the downloads are! That, and the lack of trials for downloadable games For free (PSN), I can’t complain. Although, demos and trials are free on XBL for silver members, too. Anyway, back to waiting for Ninja Gaiden to finish download.

Crackdown update: New game type, new vehicle

Posted: April 25th, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: Marketplace, Xbox 360, Xbox Live | 5 Comments »

A Crackdown staffer on the official forums posted the following pic, with the following words: “I’ll let the pic do the talking, but essentially you are going to see a new game type and a new type of vehicle when you click the below link.”

Crackdown Update

No word if this DLC will have a price tag attached, or what else will be included. From the looks of it, the new game type is an off road buggy race. Could this also mean 4 player co-op? Or just a new type of mission/mini-game? We should now soon enough since it’s coming “soon”.

Halo 3 “Last Resort” video, extended edition

Posted: April 24th, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: Halo 3, Video, Xbox 360, Xbox Live | 6 Comments »

The first few minutes are the same as what I posted earlier, but this extended version shows the entire level. Ends up I was wrong, the level looks exactly the same size as the original Zanzibar. Not too much different, either. Sure, a couple new ramps, platforms, and the ATV, but besides that it looks like a clone. I’m kinda disappointed it’s not a more extensive makeover. I mean, releasing old Halo CE maps for Halo 2 years later is one thing, but we will be coming fresh off Halo 2 (well not so fresh, but you’ve probably played Zanzibar more recently then Derelict, until they were re-released.) Still, beggars can’t be choosers. It is one of my favorite Halo 2 maps, and I look forward to tearing up the beach on that Mongoose!

Is Rockstar throwing us a curve with GTA IV?

Posted: April 23rd, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: PS3, Rumors, Xbox 360 | 3 Comments »

Rumor has it Rockstar has some aces up it’s sleeves with GTA IV. Spoilers are after the jump, so only continue if you’re okay with that. If it turns out to be true, chances are you will have a hard time avoiding this info between now and when the game hits. Worse case scenario, it’s just wishful thinking. The tipster apparently revealed that there was a jetpack in San Andreas, and no one listened to him. Lucky guess or liar?

Halo 3 Beta video leak, Zanzibar remake

Posted: April 23rd, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: Halo 3, Video, Xbox 360 | 1 Comment »

The first leaked video of the internal beta has made its way around the interweb. I assume (hope) it will be the first of many. The map shown is named “Last Resort”, and is an extensive remake of the classic Zanzibar. Notice the landmark generator in the icon on the opening lobby screen. The map looks huge now. Most shown is inside the base. The platform with the switch is most notable from the original Zanzibar. I can’t really tell how much of that interior is actually accessible, or if it’s just fo’ sho’. Regardless, this has my favorite Halo 2 map, so I’m very glad to see it will make its way into Halo 3 in one form or another. Enough already, watch the video for yourself!

UPDATE: Check out the extended version of this video, which shows the entire level.

Forza Motorsport 2 video, complete car list

I embedded the video above, but do yourself a favor, and download it in 720p over at Xboxyde. Also, if you missed the complete car list, check it out here. All that I care is that my little 91 CRX is still on the list, so I get to represent. Word.

E3 Summit 07 invitations arrive

If you don’t have one now, or get one in the mail in the next few days, you’re not going. Gone are the good old days of any old blog being able to get in (except this one, of course). I actually wasn’t expecting one of these, so imagine my surprise when I checked the mail today. I feel like Charlie when he found the golden ticket!

UPS guesses “repair center” = Xbox 360

Posted: April 19th, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: Rants, Xbox 360 | 12 Comments »

After missing the delivery of my repaired 360 (note: signature in person required!), I drove over to my UPS to get the package. While waiting for the box to be retrieved, the customer service person noticed the shipper field on my missed delivery notification read “repair center.” With only that clue, she asked me, “does this happen to be for an Xbox?” I told her yes, and we both laughed. Apparently I’m not alone in my broken 360 woes. She informed me that she has seen hundreds of these 360 return boxes.

This just goes to show how widespread the problem is. Think about how many electronics there are, and how many repair centers there must be. UPS workers see “repair center”, and they assume its an Xbox. That’s pretty damn bad.

Too Human preview, four player co-op

Posted: April 18th, 2007 | Author: Justin Nolan | Filed under: Xbox 360, Xbox Live | 2 Comments »

IGN has a pretty extensive preview of Too Human. While it does have many RPG elements, it’s no mmorpg. Don’t fret, because you and 3 friends can take on the game together via Xbox Live. Check out the video above. They stress the monumental scale and epic-ness of the game. It does look impressive, I just hope they haven’t bitten off more than they can chew. Keep this one on your watch list.

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles gameplay footage

Here’s some gameplay footage of Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles for Wii. If you’re a fan of RE, shooters on rails, destructible objects, and zombies, this could very well be something to get excited about. I’m just not so sure I would prefer the Wiimote to a good old fashion light gun.
